those fly boys

they have
the life

wind whistling
through the struts

them and the clouds
and the whole wide
of the skies

but
my word

don’t they just
land
so
very very hard
sometimes

  1. Today the BBC radio had a program on D Day. They spoke of the bad weather and how so many had parachuted into flooded areas and how so many had perished. Then they played “I’ll be seeing you in all the old familiar places” and I got such a big lump in my throat. Another moving tribute to those who lost their lives, those fly boys , who flew so high.

  2. Just to let you know I have been reading and love your posts, just can’t comment or like them.  I received the “Devil” two days ago….can’t wait to give it to my grandson!❤️
