Written for Hélène Vaillant’s What Do You See Prompt 09/04/2019
rock me
mama
rock me in
your arms
rock me mama
keep me away
from harm
rock me in your arms
till I’m asleep
at night
rock me through
until the morning light
mama
will you rock me?
mama hold me
watch me
until I am
completely safe
mama
…
What a tender and prayerful poem. It warms my heart. Thank you Frank.

Than you Hélène. I found this image harder to approach than some. A little rock lullaby the best I could come up with.

It is a sweet lullaby. Everything we write does not have to be as we think it should be…or something to that effect. This lullaby felt it was meant for the little boy on the bicycle. Personally it appealed to the little girl within me.

and the responses to the pieces we write are, sometimes, very humbling.
Thank you.
