ocean (time)

Inspired by the phrase ‘Time for you and time for me ‘ taken from ‘The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock’ by T. S. Eliot.
This now comprises a part of The Linkages Project

it is
a river

running from somewhere
that was
the start

it is a flow
that washes
by the place
my feet have found

it is a silver line
into the distance
until it fades

and somewhere
far enough
that I cannot see

it is the ocean
waiting patient
until I
become as one
with the waving
of the tide
that ebbs
and flows

there is time
for all that I must do
there is time enough
I think
for you to do what you must do
as well

time enough
to join the river
and time to twirl
in idled eddies
on the way

until the time
brings us
to ocean side

that great repository
of everything
that is that was
cold have been

one day

soon enough

no hurry
