in the heart . . .
in the heart
it is
a different
thing
not
what you expected
is
a heart
ever
exactly
what you expect?
lush
and lovely
there is darkness
below
and sometimes –
I believe
it is true โ
that
sometimes beauty comes
from
unexpected places
unexpected creatures
people
sometimes
~
Sometimes they are totally painful and that is the heart of the matter. Thank you for reminding me that inside of the fruit just as a person is often tender This is a lovely poem as usual.

Thank you Robbie. We have 2 fig trees that I’ve grown from cuttings. A purple and a green.
They’re a marvelously photogenic and textured fruit. Love em!

I love them too. Even if they are the result of a poor dead female wasp who is conned.
