the burden is
unspoken
but
I feel it
all the same
I carry on . . .
I carry
and I bow
low
but not yet
broken
the sky
above –
indifferent –
sails its clouds
into the west
but for me . . .
well
only burden
and so many
many
miles to go
into the darkness
before
I rest
~
That sounds rather deep, Frank.

Just channeling the tree Mick. I thought it a very evocative image

What a resonant voice from this tree, and you.

The imagery here is great. I thought it was a tree, but it could have been a statue. In either case, the picture and later the prose conveys a burden and a resolution to carry on. I can’t wait for this to be printed!!

Thansk Claire. Yes, clearly a tree, but for a moment I could let myself be fooled, and that stayed with me.
