who? (me)

who? (me) – 19/07/2022

a man

just a man
not
perfectly drawn
no
he is not
perfectly drawn
but
he could be
somebody
I know
what kind
of thoughts
does he think
are they
something like mine
is he
anything
anything
like me

who was he
then
who is he
now
is he
me
I don’t think
he could be
me
surely
I’m nothing
like that
I
was never
like that
though
imperfectly drawn
yes
I too am
imperfectly drawn
all my flaws
worn
on my sleeve
in the air
where
ever I go
maybe . . .

maybe
he is
me

  1. Well, as I see it, the picture and the writer have their flaws; but I don’t know either of them well enough to state those! Even if I did, that would be mighty rude to pull either identity down. It is a believable picture, and the poem has the usual thought-provoking message, I enjoyed both immensely
