Progress in my Ukraine poetry and picture poetry collections and endeavours

It’s been a little nuts around Frank-ville, working intensely on a number of different book projects at the same time, so it comes as a great relief to reach a point where there is something tangible to see for the effort.

I’m at the stage where I have more or less completed work on the 2 volume picture books for the Ukraine collection and am getting close witht he cover work for the poetry-only volume. I just now received the e-proof of the first book that I uploaded to Ingrams – for a look-see. There is likely to be several uploads and inspections after minor changes, I think (This cover has already been altered, for example). The two picture book volumes amount to some 700 odd pages, so it’s a bit of a brain-stretcher to keep everything coordinated.

My idea is that the three books will have the same cover, with minor variation – such as a line of bullets, or a hole blasted through a wall. Below is the cover image from the e-proof for Bullets Into The Starichi Sky, which is Volume 1.

Another image shows the style I’m adopting for the section breaks within the volumes.

It might all change, but the progress is tangible and I’m quite releieved to have reached this point.

  1. This sounds great, Frank. I look forward to seeing the finished product, but the “behind the scenes” work though time-consuming will be worth it. All the best.
