Starting roughly now (4th December in the US) I have a little promotional activity happening that you may be interested in.
On Kindle (US only, I think, though maybe UK too. I get confused), My Love poetry trilogy (Lowell, Whitman and Eliot are going to be discounted in sequence over the next couple of weeks. If you have interest, for yourself or for someone else, the e-books might represent a bargain.
Check them out over the next couple of days. I also get a bit confused because I can’t ‘see’ the discount in play when it is live (me being in Australia and the discount in the US).
Anyway. Here they are:

If this promotion is successful – by which I mean if it at least covers the costs, I’ll do more into the future. Its a bit of a mental ordeal to coordinate promotion activities and it isn’t certain that I have the head for it, so if you have any interest at all, grab some copies for Christmas.
Cheers,
Frank

It’s working, Frank. Walk Away Silver Heart is currently listed as free (UK).

That’s excellent. I tried to do a discount thing once before and nearly drove myself nuts because it didn’t look like it was working. All to do with market places and home addresses, it turned out.
Talk about needing faith!
Thanks for letting me know, Mick. It’s a relief.

You’re welcome, Frank. I know the problem!

I’ve set myself up for a bit of a nightmare by trying for promotion through 3 different sites, combined with the price drops for all in the Trilogy books.
I’m relieved that there has been 1 (one) sale to report, to date!

Sounds like a full-time job.

It feels like I’m having to learn a succession of new trades, Mick. SOmething to keep an eye on, because I started out just wanting to write and that has to stay the primary motivation, I think.
Lord knows there’s no money in it, but I feel the need to at least sample all these areas to know what I’m moaning about. LOL!

Like so much in life, there’s a balance to be struck. It’s one reason I step back from blogging and social media on a regular basis, and why I don’t chase a huge number of followers in the hope of extra book sales. There’s the danger I end up doing all sorts of things around the edges of the writing, thinking I’m benefitting my writing that way, and end up neglecting to write.

I understand it completely. At the moment, I’m writing little but formatting and poroofing everything I’ve ever done, or so it seems.
I have a slight suspicion that completion of this will free me up. Whether to write, or from needing to write is unclear.

Possibly a hiatus, then the writing will happen…

I hope that is right, Mick. I’m becoming aware of how much of the low-hanging fruit I’ve already picked. Laughing at myself for the number of my own books that will adorn my personal bookshelf.
When people ask how much work goes into becoming, I can likely give a definitive answer.

I’m sure it will happen that way. When I think I need to take a break from writing, for whatever reason, sooner or later I just get that irresistible urge to put pen to paper. Ideas happen…

I agree. I can feel them in the background. Never certain they will take form.

They find a way – usually when you’re on the edge of sleep without a notebook to hand!

Marje, thankyou. I just edited my post to note that the freebie has jumper Walk Away up to #2 in the freebie bestsellers list, so I’m guessing I’ll get a few happy snaps out of it, at least!
