sailing (to port)

I sail
on the rain
for
the world
is askew

vertical is
to horizontal
is
just a plane

and the movement
is a live thing
in its own way

I sail
on the rain
like
a mariner
of meteorology

and the wind blows

I arc
as the raindrops
arc
a ribbon
through the sky

as the wind blows
on and on
I skim more
in angles

at forty-five

at sixty

I
toward
the rainbow

I
across
the falling sky

the sailor

into port
via
the rain
