Inspired by the phrase ‘or along the fields and hill-sides’ taken from ‘Song of Myself (Leaves of Grass)’ by Walt Whitman. This now comprises a part of The Linkages Project |
it is my mind
that does the wandering
not I
I remain
upholstered
in my easy chair
I gaze
unseasonably
at the fire
while my mind
sends reports
in an image stream
a show
without
a tell
a transportation
enabled
by the dance
of flames
the slope
that I perched above
I recall
the fog
below
that covered
the fields
so what I saw
was a cloud scape
thick enough
I could
perhaps
step upon it
like a man
crossing the water
I recall
the feeling
of the sun
when I raised my face
closed my eyes
as I close my eyes
now
to feel the fire glow
unseasonably
that kind
of warm

Thanks Chelsea. I can easily see that happening to me.
