As advertised, this is all about The New Asylum and giving the book a push as Book Launch in Beechworth day approaches.
Firstly, I need to express my gratitude to Janet Howie of the Border Morning Mail (a significant local newspaper) for her article in the Border yesterday. Janet has been a great supporter and has helped me establish a profile in the region over the last 12 months.
Also, Mark Jesser for the photograph. Mark has also taken the photographs I’m using in my various profile pictures (the Man in Black), and has done most of the video recordings that are on my YouTube channel over here. There have been 299 views, so far. Small numbers, I suppose, but they seem very impressive to me – thank you to all who have watched.
The second thing I feel a need to mention is that The New Asylum has risen to #1 New Release in Oz poetry over at Amazon.
I’m quite amazed as I think it’s off the back of both paperback and e-book sales, and is in the US marketplace. It’s a unique collection, though, and I guess that is coming across.
Regardless, if you’re inclined, slip across and grab a copy. It’s not always an easy read, but it touches on the stuff of our times, I think.
Finally (for now!) The New Asylum is in the hunt for cover of the month over at the All Author site. This works as a weekly elimination and we’re into week 2 now.
It’s mostly just a little fun, but offers great exposure for myself and the book, as well, so if you have a moment, pop over and log a vote, using this link. The cover is sitting at #39 and needs to end the week in the top 50.
It’s a big week coming up for me over here. I’m nervous about launching, nervous about nagging, nervous about not saying enough, nervous about . . . well, just nervous all round, really.
I hope you’re having a wonderful day, wherever you are.
