I’m delighted to declare that the writing components of the Amy Lowell Project have been completed.
You might recall that, back in July 2019, I became fired up by an old project idea that was essentially about using phrases from an existing poem to inspire the creation of new work.
The three poets whose work was chosen were Amy Lowell, T.S. Eliot and Walt Whitman. Each poem was, in my opinion at least, a love poem, though very different from one another.
Well, the Lowell project is done, with every phrase now having received its own new and directly linked poem.
I’m pleased with the result and thought you might like to see the work in something like its intended form, with the original acting as a kind of Table of contents for accessing the new pieces.
Anyway, if you’d like a peek at that, I’ve moved the Lowell poem to here. Check it out, let me know what you think of the idea. It may be destined for e-book treatment, at some point.
I will keep working on the Eliot and the Whitman, both of which are significantly longer original pieces.
