simply (forever) sensory

Inspired by the phrase ‘It is for my mouth forever, I am in love with it’ taken from ‘Song of Myself (Leaves of Grass)’ by Walt Whitman.

This now comprises a part of The Linkages Project

and I take
the morning

take the rising sun

the new light
and the feeling of dew
still
in the air

take it in
with my eyes

my ears
hold on to the sounds

and I taste it

this day

another day

who could believe
such luck
and
such wonder

it is in my mouth now
and will be there
forever

oh day
the breath of you
deep
in my lungs

I stand here
and know
what I love

I love
forever
