bounds overrun (by the columbines)

Inspired by the phrase ‘That the columbines have overrun all bounds’, from the poem ‘Madonna of the Evening Flowers’ written by Amy Lowell.

This now comprises a part of The Linkages Project

the columbines
have restless hearts

they have overrun
their bounds

we should have known
they would be
beyond containing

pretty flowers
they respond
to love

and water
and fertilizer

are they not
like you
and me

and
do we not
bloom beneath
the warming sun

are we not
a fair
display

you and I
so columbined

we overrun
our bounds
