stealing (a kiss)

Inspired by the phrase ‘The yellow fog that rubs its back upon the window-panes’ taken from ‘The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock’ by T. S. Eliot.
This now comprises a part of The Linkages Project

it creeps
it steals
it slithers

covers
like a blanket
fallen

familiar . . .

too
familiar

it reaches
to touch you
close . . .

close like
a lover

rubs its back
against
a window pane

then swirls
into curls
of mesmer

a cold
soft
kiss
and you’re breathing it

in

you’re breathing it

out

exhale

it is a risen drift
of grey

into the air
