Inspired by the phrase ‘I lean and loafe at my ease’ taken from ‘Song of Myself (Leaves of Grass)’ by Walt Whitman. This now comprises a part of The Linkages Project |
end of winter
balmy day
you
sitting in the sun
while I lean
casually loafing
at my ease
watching
bees
are at the blossom
already
the season
will not wait
and your permissions
to clear
the garden boxes
becomes a vision
of clarity
where tangles grow
in obfuscation
I envisage
a time
not long away
of secateurs
and shears
and shovels
happy work
much like the bees
and blooms
but
today
I loaf
and lean and watch

Good days, Mick. I found half an hour to do some of that today. Came away smelling of geraniums!
