wet
at midnight
the rain
comes down
the heart of winter
is a downpour
I lie
wakeful
I lie
no sleep
I lie with the sound
playing
in my mind
and I half-dream
I’d like to
stand underneath it
raise my head
close my eyes
fall on me
winter rain
I will dance
under your lines
splash my face
soak my feet
fall and fall
as though
old times
raindrops
in porchlight
drum beating
my roof
I will be your dancer
this one time
dance
and twirl
I
winter dancer
(one more time)
