a wall against

he wheeled
a barrow-load
of instants

he mixed
a continuum
of moments he’d melted
with a zepto or two
on a planck

laying this mortar
as foundation
he placed instant one
instant two

and so on

building a wall
against time

Poem #597 from a series of poems drawn from the imagination and collected as: a Bachelard reverie.
