the pull of truth

an example
of the truth
was running
in a rivulet
down the pane of glass
in front of my eyes

breaking up
into a dotted trail
almost straight
but dodging
here and there
around imperfections

remaining a faithful acolyte
of gravity

here comes
another one

same line
same dodge

this time
it is something like
two trains
that run on a single track

pause and run
pause and run

get your ticket punched
to ride
you can fly

another one
falls in a line
from cloud
to ground

a very fast drop
on a very fast line
that is different

has faith
in the same pull

that is gravity

and that
is a singular example
of truth

Poem #571 from a series of poems drawn from the imagination and collected as: a Bachelard reverie.
