Voices #88: the dangle

88

plait me
hemp
into
a rope

twist a braid

then
a slipknot

first
the drop

then
the dangle

Poem #88 from a series of poems heard while on a visit to a second hand goods market and gathered together as: Voices in the Trash (and the Treasure).

  1. That looks like the old boat docking rope! I love the feel of that stuff, the smell of it, the weight of it. Now they use nylon – burns but doesn’t grip, lighter, but doesn’t hold its shape when thrown.
