what’s on my mind
today?
reading
what’s on my mind
today?
it is
reading
reading
to an audience
reading aloud
in my local library
~
what to read?
what to say?
is this a poem
that is suitable?
I
really don’t know
maybe
the oldies
maybe
the goodies
maybe
the ones
I’ve read before
a dozen times…
a hundred times
what to read?
how long
to read?
will anybody be there
will
anybody
listen
anyway?
~
two weeks
counting down
two weeks
I better choose
some poems to read
or maybe
much better
much
better
learn
to dance
~
They’ll love it – the person who lives the words, showing the life it is, has, will ever have … you’ll love it.

Cheers Cage. I hope so. It’s a while since I read in public in earnewst. I’ve arranged 2 sessions of about 45 minutes each. I want to find my voice again before the first book (of quite a few) that I have planned comes out later in the year. Re-bookifying a memoir.

I love new words! Especially from poets – re-bookifying! love it.

🙂 glad to be of assistance there. We published the collection a decade ago, but I want to re-do it in Print on Demand technology and e-book and so on.

Read what has meaning to you, Frank. You must have a fan club. If I didn’t live so far away, I would come along. Regards. Tracy.

Cheers Tracy. No fan club locally. This actually feels like I’m ‘coming out’ here in town.
It’s important for me to do this now, to start establishing a profile around here. Hopefully the years after I quit work will be dedicated to the writing and books and the like.
We shall see!

I guess it’s the right place to start, no matter what the initial audience size is. You have a fantastic collection of works to choose from, and perhaps the librarian is generating a little publicity?

It will be a hoot, Steve. I actually love reading to audience. Just get nervous about it before hand and never feel quite well enough prepared. Huge adrenaline rush.

Sounds good. I’m kind of jealous.

Ah, but you have the librarian, Steve. I may have only an empty library.

Cheers Ellen. I have an idea that I might be able to record the sessions. If so, I’ll try to make them available.
