what is a thing
in motion
when it stops
my photon appears
to have
passed away
and I don’t know
how
to think of it
what
to name it
how
to bury it
I can’t find it
anymore
so used am I
to its movement
to its ray
doing some
thing
or going
some where
it is …
it was
a thing undoubtedly
in motion
and now
my photon
has stopped

Poem #352 from a series of poems drawn from the imagination and collected as: a Bachelard reverie.
Back to Bachelard and me – Introduction
Dammit, my photons are doing that all the time!

Quite funny me (arts) trying to extract (sensible) poetry out of Bachelards scientist. (Oh well).

Seems perfectly reasonable to me. Isn’t that what science is for?

Thank you. Some tricky ideas in science to try to deal with in a poem.

Don’t worry! According to Quantum Physics, no information can be lost. Even black holes store information on their periphery (per Leonard Susskind et al).

No loss, Tom. My work doesn’t rely too much on actual information.
