Poem #298 from a series of poems drawn from the imagination and collected as: a Bachelard reverie.
Back to Bachelard and me – Introduction
my heart
knew
the summer flowed
an ebb
away
but
in my mind
when I looked back
each day
stood
as one
alone
the day
that it shone
the day it rained
the day
I slept until
my lunch
had passed
the day that came
the day
just gone
each one stood alone
as summer
flowed over me
and now
today
a leaf will turn
from green
to all the shades
of brown
and
on a day
to come
each leaf
will choose its time
to fall away
one
by one
they
will go
