sacred and solemn

Poem #221 from a series of poems drawn from the imagination and collected as: a Bachelard reverie.

Back to Bachelard and me – Introduction

it became
his custom

before beginning to read
a poem

any poem at all

he would allow himself
a meeting
with a moment
of silence

he needed
that moment
to
compose himself

to find
the degree of solemnity
that he felt
a poem
deserved

for
in the body
of a poem is buried
the sacred act

that is
creation

    • It leads to the exploration of philosophical thoughts, I think. The focus on getting words to say just what is wanted and nothing else – that kind of focus lends itself in a meditative way.
