the poet contemplates todays destiny

Poem #213 from a series of poems drawn from the imagination and collected as: a Bachelard reverie.

Back to Bachelard and me – Introduction

today
the poet makes his mark
makes
a universe
appear
brand new

this time
there are clouds
filled
with pinpoint lights

a nursery of stars
a nebula
of endless tomorrows
endless
dimensions
billowing like smoke

rising
from a cauldron
filled to the brim

filled up
with chance

today the poet
makes his mark

makes

himself

appear
in the leading universal role

this time
he wears a cape
stands up on no air
no
no air at all

his hair
his cape
is swept straight back
as though a breeze
a gentle breeze

perhaps the solar breath
itself
is blowing

establishment of universe (check)

of deepest space (check check)

establishment of hero (check) and (check) again

handsome etc (check check check)

what happens next

in the following canto

who will the hero rescue

will the cloud
of nascent stardust
grow
will it expand

will it be beautiful
this time
or
fail again
(again)

as it has failed
again

today
the poet makes his mark
and a story appears
on paper
brandest new

and
seeming possible

so very
very
possible

  1. The poet has done well, in the consideration of failure and further failure, the impossible (more fun) and the seeming possible. I am thinking that the poet has rescued themselves and will continue making universes. Very enjoyable, Frank.
