friends parting

Poem #183 from a series of poems drawn from the imagination and collected as: a Bachelard reverie.

Back to Bachelard and me – Introduction

I will carry you

the quiver spoke

you are no burden
we are together
we are one

until I see you go
in glory

I will watch
your rise

rely on me

the bow reassured

for I am strong
and I will bend
for you

rest your shaft
against me

be as one
where we touch

while you wait

I will give you
my gift to you
is trust

and I will
kiss your length
as you pass by me
at last
to fly

nock to me

demanded the string

be sure
feel me
in my natural home
within your groove

and hard
we are united

I will not draw
until you ask me
but then
I will
as far as you
may want
may need

I will sing for you
a thrumming song
to lift you
into sweetest air

my fleet one

into the blue
out of all sight
too fast to see
where you go

secret one

the sky above
is yours
