notes on hope and redemption: #15 – random indebtedness

Poem #39 from a second series of meditations titled: the Pilgrim (2)

Back to the Pilgrim – Introduction

what does it mean
pilgrim
to be the random one
who lived

the blessing of luck

the burden
of guilt

celebration
or despair

does the element of luck
establish a new sense
of the worth
of your life

greater
or lesser

are you worthy
of such fortune

what do you now owe
in return

who must you pay
