Poem #123 from a series of poems drawn from the imagination and collected as: a Bachelard reverie.

Back to Bachelard and me – Introduction

do not fear

I will not
destroy you

the words
of reassurance
spoken aloud
crackled from the coals

my aim is only to transform
I seek to change you
from what is now
to what
might yet be

have faith in me
I am your friend

seek reverie
and rest
within the crucible
while I do what I must do

and change
change you will

running red
the heart of what you are

when you are flow
you will again
you will anew

poured into a shape
you must snug
close to the molding walls

you will cool
I shall depart

in your new
you will be

the words
crackled aloud
by coals
