Poem #108 from a series of poems drawn from the imagination and collected as: a Bachelard reverie.
Back to Bachelard and me – Introduction
I know this man
well
I have read
every one
of his books
I have studied every word
of his prefaces
the headings
for each chapter
I have looked into
the style
of his prose
the structure
of his verses
I know this man
very well
I have established
his character
I know
what he loved
the ways he was inclined
toward violence
he has no
secret
from me
I have read
the way his mind opens
the way it closes
as draughts blow
through his doorways
he is revealed
to me
I do not think
that I
would care anymore
to meet him
