lake to lake walk: fair fall

Cut log2

well
I hardly know
what to tell you

there I was
minding my own business
for
what
sixty? seventy? years
standing in the same spot
never causing a bother …

I’m sorry?
you don’t believe
I was standing there that long?

count

the

rings

… as I was saying
so I’m standing for all those years
when one day
up they come
out with a chain saw
and …

well …

and this!

I know I had a little lean

and
my root-ball had seen better days

but gee

seventy years

I ask you
does that
seem fair
