rocket flower
to the sky
up to the sun
rocket flower
still unfurled
fly me
up to
the moon
to mars
I know
I am fanciful
a pedestrian
I know
that flight
won’t really happen
but
rocket flower
you look so …
you look so …
take me away come on
let’s rise into the sky
and then beyond the atmosphere
into the dark
into the cold
of travelling somewhere
towards some-
other-
where
pretty flower
perhaps
if you would just
unfurl
for me
take me in
to take me
away
maybe that
maybe
only that
is adequate
to meet my needs
to meet
your needs
let us fly
by the quince
empowered

October 2017 Poem #14: introduction to an idea of time
Very nice… (and without carrying nuclear warheads)!

You never know what might be wrapped up under the petals Tom. Hopefully only a potential Quince, but you can never be sure.
