it is bare
stone-faced duty
that stays a man
put on like a yoke
as wearying as the strain
of pulling
pulling
as worn as the furrow
of a circle
trodden over and over
it is a bare faced stone
that has no forgiveness
and cannot yield
it is enough to stay a man
to death

Indeed. You bring me back to the world of the Wild West pioneers, and how they had to keep their faces to the grind just to make it out in the wilderness. But I guess it is just as relevant today; having just to keep afloat in this very difficult world economy!

Different contexts, but the same depth of challenge. I agree.
