anise in season

Poem #55 from a series of meditations: the Pilgrim

Back to the Pilgrim – Introduction

the season changes
pilgrim
not with the designations
or notations
marked in an almanac

the buds are full
bursting

the colour emerges
single spots
on one side of the tree

each day more

and the intoxication of anise
released by the golden wattle
that always comes first
in spring

the season changes
pilgrim
the year too will arrive
in time
