his shoes are polished
the socks elegantly patterned
riding high over the ankles
as they should be

a clean shirt of pale blue
knotted bow tie with jacket
and the comfortable brown
corduroy trousers

his hair is combed straight back
and parted

the way that he likes it

he is ready
