the eye

I do not sing
to spite the rain

I don’t whistle
at the wind

the storm
needs no encouragement
from me

I do not make my moves
too sudden

and I don’t make a sound
at all

I move so slowly
you cannot tell

I place my hands
to shift the air

and when the storm
spins around my head

I am unruffled
dry
untouched
by the tempest game

spin around
you deep
black cloud

spin around
the eye
I am

make a curtain
from your rain
let the wind blow
in my name
in the heart of you
I stand

Loved this – and all that led up to it and followed – great layers here – this is a piece I can sit with and savour!
