Psychiatry 4: Acute Observations

This section of the psychiatry memoir is chronologically a few years after the relatively carefree Student Nursing section.

In the meantime, your narrator of these events has filled roles as a nurse in acute inpatient units and in community practice settings, a project worker in mental health, a nursing bureaucrat, a private consultant and finally, returned to refresh his clinical skills before undertaking management of a troubled acute inpatient unit.

This section focuses on events and happenings from an acute inpatient unit perspective – clinical events and practices, as well as reflecting the experiences encountered in management of such a place.

I hope you enjoy this peek into the rare air of these experiences.

The section begins here.
