venus of the eucalypts

tree-2

the grey queen
dances

arms raised
head laid back
and high
up in the clouds

her body sways

her hair hangs
down

naked
she is smoothest skin
smoothest
silk to touch

the wind breathes
a sigh
and she laughs
a little
sha sha

just a little
sha sha sha

grey queen

dancing

  1. Great poem. As child I there was a large patch of Eucalyptus trees close to our home across from a wetland. It saved my life, I am still creating out of the memories of school afternoons in and around those gentle grey giants.
