alone (with the wind)

A Poem a Day in October 2016: #23

empty house

I
am all alone

there’s no sound
except my heartbeat
and an echo
of woo-woo wind

this house
is a playground
for curly breezes
sweeping the veranda

fluting the chimney

ooo
woo-woo-woo

even my thoughts sing

ooo
woo-woo-woo

and now
and now the rain
fingers shush
a crepe
diminuendo

shhh

see the tree wave its leaves
outside

ooo
woo-woo-woo

all alone
we’re alone and

shhh

ooo
woo-woo

the wind and I

ooo
