quality light

A Poem a Day in October 2016: #15

there’s a good light
in Beechworth
when the rain’s been falling
and the sun goes down
a beam hits a cloud
as it sleets by in regiments
painted grey

there’s a good light
after the storm has passed
perhaps it’s the cleanse
that takes the blur away
but it’s a good light that falls
when the sun
picks a point to highlight
for illumination

it’s a good light in Beechworth
so fetch me down my camera
filter me the right lens for a good light
spilled across a rainbow
dressed only in amber
and yellow
from the sun
after the rain
before the night takes a hold
on the rush of the water flowing
like a river
in Spring Creek
