A Poem a Day in October 2016: #11
once upon a time
some believed that a photograph
was a doorway
to the soul
take a picture
take a snap
take a piece of me away
keep it behind glass
inside a frame
and here I am today
taking photographs
here I am today
stealing souls
little flower here
little orchid
there
faint pink
in a swatch of heath
and here
I’ve caught some fungi
those flowers
are the heart of Spring
in this rugged gorge land
the waters swirl
with a burst of élan
that feels alive
and
I have it here
Box Brownie boy
I have the soul of the gorge
to keep
for my own

Poem #12: tweedling October
Actually, the pictures above were taken by Leanne Murphy. Leanne Murphy but I helped to find them (on October 6th, 2016 – Springtime). If you’re interested in botanical names (and several more orchids), Leanne has given them in her blog entry.
Loved the poem, and Leanne has clicked some amazing pictures! Kudos to you both!

Thank you, I’ll pass on your praise.
Delighted you enjoyed the poem – we’re having quite a wonderful time exploring Spring in the Gorge.
Many of the pictures are likely to end up as paintings – there is one gorge scene here: https://leannemurphyartist.wordpress.com/2016/09/26/view-from-spring-creek-bridge/
Thanks again for dropping by and commenting.
Cheers,

🙂 a pleasure, and enjoy your company with Spring in the Gorge! The picture is mesmerising, and looks halfway between a painting and a picture, it looks so real!
