imagination (patter pitter)

A Poem a Day in October 2016: #10

I heard a drop of my imagination fall
and touch down
gentle
on the roof outside

it brought a friend
or maybe more
to set up a slow percussion

patter patter

patter pitter patter

they danced

I looked outside
to watch the rain descend
to see the drops as each one fell

there was nothing in the sky above
but cloud swirling
in slate and grey

misty twirls

smoke ghost curls

they danced

I heard my imagination fall
in a patter in a swirl
in a misty rain it fell

and it danced
on the roof
danced in the sky
danced in my mind

pitter patter pitter

was the rhythm
so

even if there’s rain
on the roof outside
there is dance

even in the rain
we can dance
