a letter to the royal society

dear sirs
I wished to report a discovery

I have found the land again

it lies in a brown loam
that crumbles beneath my feet

with the hoe
I can form it into a furrow
or raise up a hill

into the new valley is placed a potato
and from the hill
I fashion a bed of planted things

oh gentlemen
I have found the land again

look
it fills the lines upon my palm
and lies under the nails

sirs
do you see here
this wonderful thing
I have new-found
again

  1. I have nominated you for the three day, three quotes challenge. If you are interested, the rules are simple. And I may not be strictly following them…..however; you must thank the nominator, and suggest three other bloggers to follow. They can’t be repeated in the next two days’ writings.

  2. Yeah, it’s not really for me at present. I got into this blogging caper just to find a home for my work, and I don’t mind contributing a poem if I have something on theme – like the poets for peace initiative – but otherwise, I tend to let things go by. Might change in future, but for the moment I need to pass.

    Thanks, but sorry. 😦

    Cheers,

    Frank
